Church Decline

Recent “Barna Research” is showing that “One in Three” “Practicing Christians” have stopped attending church, in person or virtual, during COVID-19. This has  accelerated the organized church decline in attendance that was happening prior COVID-19 Pandemic.

In the past few years church decline in attendance in the US has become the norm, leading to statements such as “Like all churches, we have seen our church decline in attendance (a slow decline), “year to year”, for a number of years, yet we still think we are a “healthy church.”

Many pastors believe that their church was/is healthy despite “year-to-year” while acknowledging their church’s decline in attendance, new converts, and giving. Many church leaders seem not to be concerned, in fact they are accepting it as normal!

It is time for our church leaders to wake-up! Pastors’ and other church leaders must lead their churches to recovery, STOP the church’s decline!

This website, “Restoring the Church”, and a sister website, “Dying Church”, will be providing ideas and resources to counter this church decline. To stop this church decline we must focus must be on Christ and the Cross.

John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

We must respond in “faith” to Jesus’ statement in Act 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the utter most part of the earth.”
